We here are Freedom Church our excited to announce our first ever student conference, geared towards students grades 6-12. Engage 2009 is promising to be a day that you are sure to never forget. This is more than just a conference – but a catalyst for change for the students today. A change for Christ. That He would begin to conquer our schools. Our community. Our churches. Our homes. Our state. Our nation. Our lives.

This year at Engage we will be talking through the “Power of Prayer” and the impacts it can have on our lives. If we just took a few minutes to pray each day. Boldly. Unashamed. Humbly. Powerfully. What could happen if we just asked God to intervene in our lives and our situations.

This is not an ordinary, boring, conference that many people think of. We will be providing different elements of worship, creativity, and message. Check out these guys for some of the music that will be provided:: Freedom Live, Elite, Brandon Haley, and more! The speakers at this years event will be Pastor JR Lee, Megan Strange, and Tyler Orr.

This is an event that you DO NOT want to miss!

I am super excited to announce Freedom Church/Freedom Generation’s first ever Student Conference.

So student pastors……pastors……students……..people – mark your calendars for Saturday, August 15th and make plans to join us and other student ministries for a one day conference that will be sure to change lives. This day is dedicated to approaching Christ as a body and not as individual ministries and churches. We will be pushing forward as a body of Christ towards our schools, families, and friends.

Here are few what’s and then I will explain the why.

• The event is FREE OF CHARGE! That’s right, your student ministry can bring as many as you want  absolutely free of charge.
• We are limited to 650 seats – so be sure to sign-up fast!
• Registrations opens Monday, June 1st.
• Registrations will be via a website (TBA) in which you can “purchase” and print out tickets.
• We will have sessions and breakouts dedicated to you and your students. They will be challenging and inspirational, provoking through and insight into spreading the news of Christ to the world and helping Matthew 28:16-20 come alive!
• This is for high school and middle school students alike!

Let me give you the why….

We want to be able to conquer the world as a body and not simply as individual minstries. Yes, we all have our specific jobs – but we want to bring it together for one day to make a giant  push in our community.

I am a FIRM believer that the students right now are underused, underutilized, and underappreciated. Student are capable of helping in spread the good news of Christ, in which many churches and people readily dismiss – 1 Timothy 4:12

This is sure to be an amazing event full of life change.

This August Freedom Generation will be hosting their first ever Student Conference.

The Generation team is currently in the planning process of this event and we are EXTREMELY excited about what is in store for this years Conference. I can’t tell you the time, date, name, or location…..yet – but what I can tell you is that the Conference will have some of the following things:

Headed out Thursday in the AM to Unleash up in Anderson, SC at NewSpring Church. I am extremely excited to head up their with a bunch of Freedom partners and re-connect with Brad Cooper and Davey Blackburn (the student guys over at NewSpring church). Those guys are doing phenomenal things up their and I’m pumped to continue to learn from them.

Last year Freedom had just launched (3 months in) and we brought a few of our staff with us (about 6 total). This year we are completely stepping it up! We are now 1 year and 3 months old and are bringing 30+ partners with us to share in the vision that God has set on Pastor JR’s heart as well as learn from one of the best churches in the ENTIRE WORLD!

It’s going to be an incredible time to invest in our partners as well as connect with them on a deeper level and show them that God has HUGE things planned for Freedom Church and Acworth, GA. I continue to stand by the fact that we seriously have the best group of partners on the entire planet and Freedom Church could not happen without them! They seriously understand and believe that we are here to “reach those who are far from God so they can experience life in Christ”

It’s going to be a great time and I’m already ready to leave….just 1 more day…

I am officially out of a computer for the next few weeks. My laptop had a hinge snap off and decided to not display anything on the screen. I had to send it in for repair and they said it will take atleast 2 1/2 weeks to get back to me. Not good.

So my blogs will be very few over the next few weeks but here are some big things going on:

1. FreedomGeneration has its second worship service for all middle/high school students THIS Sunday night at 6:00PM.

2. We are giving away a Nintendo Wii on Sunday tonight to a lucky student.

3. Went to Catalyst last week and it was phenomenal! I’m definitely thinking about going out west to their Catalyst ‘09 conference to see Hillsong United and some amazing speakers.

4. Checked out Prime tonight at First Baptist and it was nice seeing some old faces that I haven’t seen in a while.

5. Heading to check out Echo on Thursday night. It was phenomenal last time I went and am excited to head back over there!

6. Movie day is on Friday with Chelsea. Not sure what movies we will be watching but it will be a fantastic day of rest and relaxation!

7. God is stretching me right now and I’m having to lay down a lot of things before Him. Very difficult to do but much needed and I know that great things are going to come of it!

8. Fright Fest on Saturday with the college small group on Saturday! Haven’t been to six flags in a LONG time and I’ve never been to fright fest. Excited to check it out!

I’m extremely excited for Catalyst this week! I have heard unbelievable things about this conference and I’m ready to experience it so it can challenge me in my development as a leader. I think Catalyst is going to help propel FreedomChurch forward because of the different things that we will learn and gain from this conference. It’s going to be an insane couple of days with some our staff going: Pastor JR, Todd, Ian, Blake, Austin, and myself.

Just got home from the Unleash Conference at NewSpring Church in Anderson, South Carolina and it was PHENOMENAL. It was great gathering with a bunch of church pastors, with old and new churches, from all around and just discussing the different roles and rules to having a succesful church. The NewSpring Band was great and Perry Noble is an amazing speaker. If you are a pastor and care about your church and how to have a succesful church in todays day and age, I would definitely recommend attending the Unleash Conference next year
